A Honduras Note from Gayle Gonsior:
H.O.P.E. In Honduras Gayle will again be heading for the mountains of Honduras on February 18th. HOPE in Honduras (https://hopeinhondurasinc.org), is a local based nonprofit health and education aid group that works with primarily indigenous Lenca communities in the mountains of northern Honduras. This is an area of extreme poverty (i.e. limited water and food sources, subsistence agriculture, barely basic child education, isolation, houses commonly of sticks and mud with dirt floors). Gayle has been with HOPE for over 12 years, traveling at least yearly with colleagues (at their own expense) to provide personal interactive health and well-being and education assistance to several communities, local clinics, a nearby hospital, and a school built by the group. The focus is on children’s needs. HOPE has been generously financially and materially supported over the years by numerous friends and partners near and far, and local churches, including First Lutheran of Port Wing and Our Saviors Lutheran of Iron River. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement for Health and Opportunity Potential through Education, H.O.P.E. in Honduras.
